Virus Pandemic Policy Update (December 31, 2021)
With the increasing numbers of persons infected with the coronavirus across Maryland and the high numbers of persons in Frederick Health Hospital, the county Board of Health has instituted a mask mandate for persons gathering indoors. Since Calvary UMC has already been following this practice, we will continue to offer an in-person worship service on Sunday mornings along with a livestream option for people to participate online.
We will be making some changes to our current policies starting January 1:
- There will be no coffee and donuts served in the parish hall after worship services.
- All groups meeting in the church are asked to wear a mask while inside regardless of the number of people.
- If someone has been infected with COVID-19 during the past seven days or been exposed to someone with an active case of COVID-19 during the previous seven days, they should not enter the church buildings. Persons should be symptom free for five days or have a recent negative covid-19 test before they enter the building.
Although we will offer in-person worship, I encourage everyone to make use of the Livestream option on Sunday January 2 and January 9. By mid-January, the extent of the delta and omicron variants should be better known. You can find the livestream at https://www.facebook.com/CalvaryUMCFrederick.
