New Sermon Series: Blessed Are the Peacemakers
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
(Matthew 5: 9)
I don’t know about you, but reading the newspaper, checking social media or listening to the news on the radio seems to break my heart every day. Why is it that people can be so quick to judge others, so likely to say demeaning things about others and act within such rude ways? How did we get to this place? When there is so much discord that divides people today, Jesus offers us a more excellent way, the way of love. Those who are called to follow him are invited to practice compassion. We are to be peacemakers in our homes, our church and in our community.
This Sunday we will begin a series of sermons to encourage us all to practice the way of peace. Drawing upon scripture as well as contemporary resources, we will examine ways that we can step out of a frame of mind that perpetuates conflict and begin to discover the blessing that comes when we make peace.
Sermon Series:

Grace and peace,
Pastor Steve
