These are some full and exciting days! On Sunday, we celebrated the start of Holy Week. We remembered the way in which an excited and joyful crowd welcomed Jesus into the ancient city of Jerusalem. We were reminded that all too soon, the people would turn against Jesus, and he would be denied, betrayed, rejected, and put to death. We were left waiting to hear what came next, and we lean forward in anticipation of the good news of the resurrection.

On Thursday, we will share together in the Lord’s Supper where he shared himself with his followers with the bread and cup. As we share at the table, we are brought into the story as well.

This last Sunday was the start of the introduction of our new church organ. Those who were present on Sunday morning got to hear the organ accompany us as we sang “Take Up Thy Cross” and “When I Survey the Wonderous Cross.” Then, at the end of the worship service, Dr. Adela Peeva played one of the great pieces for the organ, “Tocatta” from Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by John Sebastian Bach. It was a moment that was truly breathtaking. More will come in the weeks and months ahead, but what a great introduction.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Steve
