The General Conference, the global gathering of The United Methodist Church, will meet April 23 – May 3 in Charlotte, N.C. This will be the first General Conference session held since the special session held in February 2019. There will be the opportunity to remove language related to homosexuality in The Book of Discipline. There will also be proposals for having the denomination create more regional decision-making authority, making the UMC in the United States more like it is organized in other parts of the world. There are various ways to learn more about the General Conference online. Bishop LaTrelle Miller Easterling will preach on Thursday, April 25, at the 8 a.m. worship service. The Brass Ensemble from Trinity UMC in Frederick will perform at the opening worship service at 2 p.m. on April 23. Watch on livestream.

I invite you to join me in prayer for the General Conference while it does its work over the next two weeks. May we find ways to reflect the love of Christ, proclaim the good news and live in God’s grace in these times in which we live.

Pastor Steve Larsen

This is the BIG Weekend when we dedicate our organ and have the chance to hear it played by a highly accomplished musician. Nathan Laube is one of the world’s most highly respected organists and organ teacher. This will be one of those moments that you won’t want to miss.
