Christmas is always such a busy and wondrous time. It is great to see so many people take part in the worship services and the candlelight tour of churches.

On Christmas Eve, I was so grateful for the music offered by Joyce Summers, Ann Thompson and Karen Gebhart as well as the members of the Children’s Choir and Sanctuary Choir. And thanks to Adela Peeva who put things together even though she had difficulties that kept her from playing and conducting. Between the three services we had 567 or more persons in attendance plus another 251 views of the services online.

As for the Candlelight Tour of Historic Houses of Worship on December 26, I want to give a big thank you to Dianna Plotner who worked with Visit Frederick and the volunteers from the Church to offer a warm welcome to those who stopped by. We had over 3200 guests that day. Each one got to enjoy the beauty of the sanctuary, a friendly greeting and special live music offered in the sanctuary. Thank you goes to Roy Schwarzenberg, Mark Mayer and many others who provided the chicken soup that evening as well as Christmas cookies. Over 900 people were served until the soup ran out.

We will be taking down the remaining holiday decorations on Saturday, January 4 at 9:00 AM. This usually goes very quickly but the more hands to help, the better.

My pray for all of you in the New Year is that God will bless us and show us the way to make a just and lasting peace for all. Happy 2025!

Pastor Steve
