It Takes a Village: A Season of Grateful Hearts
Holy Week and Easter are among the most meaningful days on the Christian calendar, and at Calvary, they are also among the most busy. Behind every beautiful moment of worship, every child’s wide-eyed wonder, and every warm welcome at the door, there is a faithful volunteer giving their time, their energy, and their heart. This week, we simply want to say: thank you.
To our musicians — you have poured yourselves into extra rehearsals, special services, and the kind of worship that moves people to tears and to joy. Your dedication lifts the whole congregation closer to the Holy.
To our Family Ministry team — you have worked tirelessly to make this Easter season come alive for our children and families. From Mission Possible Kids to our youth, you are planting seeds of faith that will last a lifetime. Amy Stone and the entire team — we see you, and we are so grateful.
To our ushers, greeters, and fellowship team — you are often the first face someone sees and the last hand they shake. You make a sanctuary feel like a home. That ministry matters more than words can say.
And then there is a story unfolding quietly in the Baker Center basement that deserves its own moment of celebration.
Thanks to the tireless work of our cleaning and organizing crew, Karen Gephart and Melissa Rust plus their “silent partners”, that basement is well on its way to being purged, decluttered, and transformed. But the story gets even better. Through a wonderful introduction made by Beth Stitely, Calvary has formed a new partnership with a remarkable young local entrepreneur: Bubba Shred.
Bubba collects shredded paper and repurposes it as animal bedding for local farmers, a creative, community-minded venture that is both practical and good for our neighbors. We are thrilled to partner with him as we clear space and clear clutter, knowing that what leaves Calvary is doing real good in our community.
All of this, the music, the children’s smiles, the open doors, the clean corners, is the body of Christ at work. We are so fortunate to worship and serve alongside each one of you.
With so much gratitude – Until Sunday, and all the days between,
Dr. Hutton
