We are currently planning to hold several worship options for Christmas eve.
We will be offering two virtual worship services online that can be viewed at your convenience. One service will be more focused on the children’s Christmas pageant and the other a more traditional service of scripture, carols and sermon. These services will be post on Facebook and YouTube with links from our website, www.calvaryumc.org.
We will be offering two identical in-person worship services in the sanctuary, one at 6 pm and the other at 9 pm. These services will require a reservation and seating will be limited. If demand cannot be met by these two services on December 24, we will also offer an additional early Christmas eve service on December 23 at 6 pm.
We will be sending out a link to make these reservations on Thursday, December 17. Those who wish can also call the church and make a reservation in the voicemail 301-662-1464.
We will also be offering a way for people to dial in to hear a brief meditation by telephone. This will allow those who do not have access to the internet to still hear the sermon for Christmas eve. Just call 301-215-9219 to hear me or Pastor Shannon offer a sermon by telephone. This is already set up for those who might wish to hear a 7-minute version of last Sunday’s message.
So much has changed this year and it is difficult to plan very far ahead. But the good news is that God continues to be present with us even in times of difficulty and stress. In fact, its times when we are pressed and challenged that we come to see just what it means to trust in the Lord.
