I love Vacation Bible School.
What is the most hectic week of the year at the church? It’s not Holy Week. It’s the week of Vacation Bible School! The buildings are full of energy and excitement as over a hundred children and many youth and adults come together for snacks, crafts, games, music, and drama around five different Bible stories. This year, Vacation Bible School will take place June 24- 28, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to noon with an interactive experience for the larger church and all the families on Thursday evening. The theme is “Roar: Life is Wild, God is Good.” The idea is that everyone will take part in an African safari adventure and learn a different Bible story each day. It’s an opportunity to engage children and families, including those who do not have a church connection. It’s also fun to be with the children and get to know them as the week progresses.
We have many volunteers that make this happen but we are always looking for new people too. It is one of the most rewarding ministries we do. To register a child or to learn more about the program or how to volunteer, see us at www.Calvaryumc.org or contact Christy Mossburg at Christy@calvaryumc.org.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Steve Larsen
