Its begun! Last Sunday we launched the “Renew and Rejoice Campaign” with a kick-off event in the Fellowship Hall. On Monday morning we went live with a new website page about the campaign and a special video about what the campaign is all about. Take a look at it. It’s a wonderfully done video that features the people of this congregation.
In one sense, the campaign is about raising the funds for a new organ, but on a deeper level, it is about our desire to be a community of faith where we encounter the living God. It is in worship and praise that we find hope for our days and the courage and faith to live the fullness of life God offers to us. This is a project that everyone can join in together. It calls for prayer, fostering and deepening relationships across the congregation, and practicing hospitality as well as offering our financial contributions. This is a project that will be a blessing for people now as well as those who come long after we’re gone. From the children to the most tenured member of the congregation, each of us can do something.
In particular, we are looking for folks to help us with making food items for several social events that will take place during the campaign. We are inviting persons to take part in a one-hour prayer vigil on Sunday, October 6 just before we get started with worship services that morning. We are also hoping to have some volunteers to make some phone calls to other members of the church. To learn more, you can contact me at RevSteve@calvaryumc.org or our Community Campaign Chairs, Joyce and Rob Summers at joyce.summers@comcast.net.
Energy is building! Excitement has become more evident. Please plan on joining in on this important work.
