Amy and David Carter have been members of Calvary Church for the last 20 years. Soon they will be moving along with daughters Grace and Rachel to Georgia. We wish them well with this move and new chapter of life.

During the time that they have been part of Calvary Church, the Carters picked up the food items left each month at the church and delivered them to the Foodbank run by Frederick Community Action Agency (FCAA) at 14 E All Saints Street. That is a task that has often gone unseen and unacknowledged, but it is deeply appreciated. They helped get food to people in need.

Although its hasn’t been promoted much, the “Wheelbarrow Sunday” program at Calvary is a way that people can drop of non-perishable items at the church which then are sorted and distributed to individuals and families who are facing an economic crisis and cannot afford to buy their groceries.  The wheelbarrow holds the food items until they are taken over to the Foodbank. The foodbank serves between 600 to 800 households each month ranging from very low-income families to moderate-income families who are facing a financial crisis and need food assistance on a regular basis.

Thank you David, Amy, Grace and Rachel for your help with this project and we wish you well.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Steve Larsen

The new permanent home for the Emergency Family Shelter will be opening soon. The Religious Coalition has worked to raise the funds and carry out the renovation necessary to provide a warm and safe place for families in need of shelter. Calvary Church was a site for this shelter when it moved around different locations. A new permanent site provides more stability and services to those in need. The Grand Opening of this new shelter will take place on Saturday, February 26 at 7516 Hayward Road, Frederick. RSVP are requested for those who wish to attend. Contact mkula@rcehn.org.
