Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds.
– Phil 4:6-7
The sense that there will not be enough drives greed, fear, and completive behavior. When we think we will not have enough, we live in “Scare City.” The Good News is that this is an illusion. Although there may still be times when our resources are stretched thin, we can look to God and find that we are provided with those things that matter most: love, acceptance, dignity, and purpose.
We have all been on the receiving end. We can be thankful for the warmth of the sun, the color of the trees and flowers, the fresh air, for people who love us when we are at our best and even when we are at our worst. We are all blessed in many ways.
We are taking several weeks this month to be reminded of God’s providence and provision in life.
Yours in Christ,
